Sheltair is bringing New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo to Las Vegas this month.
Well, at least in regulatory spirit.
Following Governor Cuomo signing into law New York State sales-and-use tax exemptions on general aviation transactions the entire business model for aircraft owners has strategically changed for the better. Underscoring these new economic incentives Sheltair will present to the annual NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition in Las Vegas the company’s information campaign entitled “New York is cleared for takeoff” featuring the Statue of Liberty as a ramp lineman.
Warren Kroeppel, Sheltair’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), explained, “NBAA’s Las Vegas convention brings together top aviation leaders from around the world who are looking for insight and intel on changes in our industry. We can’t think of a better place to detail the regulatory reforms taking place in New York that directly benefit aircraft owners.”
In the wake of Governor Cuomo’s actions Sheltair began to clear ground this fall for a new multimillion-dollar FBO hangar complex at Republic Airport (FRG) in East Farmingdale, New York, located some 35 miles east of Manhattan. Sheltair’s new Republic construction calls for as much as 210,000 square feet of hangar space with door heights a minimum of 28 feet to accommodate the latest corporate jets, thereby ensuring that the needs of a robust and vital general aviation community can be met. In addition, , the company is also hard at work improving or expanding their locations across the eastern seaboard including ISP, FOK, SAV, ORL, FLL, PMP, OCF and LAL. Two new additional hangar complexes are now in development and available for pre-leasing, with 150,000 square feet at FLL and 200,000 square feet at FXE.
What happens in Las Vegas needs to be heard industry wide
Kroeppel explained that Sheltair will be a co-exhibitor with Avfuel at Booth C8816 during the NBAA three day event, November 17th through the 19th, to be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Company experts from their property leasing and development departments will be on site to answer questions and provide details about Sheltair’s ability to provide FBO services, construction and management expertise.
Sheltair’s Las Vegas presentation will come on the heels of the company’s FBO efforts that welcomed hundreds of aircraft visiting the legendary Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in Florida while hosting a fundraising gala on behalf of Angel Flight Southeast where pilots provide patients with free air travel to medical facilities they would otherwise not have access to.
